THROWS & BLANKETS

SOFT FOCUS

With an emphasis on tactile fibers like cashmere, silk, linen and bamboo, our hand-spinning and hand-looming techniques conspire to create accessories that are sumptuous in their simplicity.

While I admire and enjoy working in a lot of different styles, I feel most at home using luxe, natural materials to create objects with an understated rustic appeal. The Italians have been doing fancy looking cashmere for centuries. I want something more wabi-sabi. I love the idea of creating a new language — something that feels at home in the mountains , in the desert or by the sea.

IAN SAUDE

  • Having worked for decades in the Himalayan cashmere industry to develop his own collections, IAN SAUDE has also spearheaded numerous private label projects for other well known designers.

Over time, having collaborated on a wide range of styles from highly embellished evening wear pieces to classic knits, his primary focus remains on styles that express a rustic, understated luxury.

  • In this age or artificial fibers, there is still something undeniably appealing about hand loomed fabrics made from authentic fibers the retain their organic appeal.

At IAN SAUDE we focus on primarily on natural fibers, often spun by hand in their native colors, supplemented by creative looming, dying, finishing techniques and embellishments that lend them a unique point of view.

  • When channeling the extraordinary properties of luxe fibers like cashmere, silk and linen or when combining them with modern nature-derived fibers like Modal or bamboo, comfort is always my primary consideration. Our accessories must not only look good, they also need to feel good — quietly conveying a sense of wholesome reassurance.
