Lotus also offers extensive options for customization and quicker turn-around times, when compared to most European brands.

Our pricing is typically more than a local cabinetry shop (which does a little of everything but typically at a more basic level) and is significantly less expensive than the top luxury brands (with the added advantage of a price that includes design, installation and the convenience and efficiency of having domestic production facilities.)

Since LOTUS is a custom cabinet maker, will they make any kind of cabinetry I want ?

LOTUS focuses exclusively on creating modern European box style cabinetry with specific doors and drawers styles that we can produce at a consistently high level of quality. We also focus predominantly on using pre-finished panels to insure consistency in texture and color. Therefore, we do not provided face frame cabinetry or attempt to create every door style or finish. Instead, we focus on curating a unique and compelling array of options that address the needs of most contemporary designers.

LOTUS is a systems based manufacturer, not library-based. Therefore you do not need to configure your spaces using a pre-existing library of cabinet modules and trim pieces. Instead, as long as you stay within our system, we can tailor the cabinetry dimensions to perfectly fit your space.

What is different about LOTUS Cabinetry’s construction?

LOTUS uses the latest edge-banding technology to create panels that are consistently elegant and hard-wearing. Unlike most American manufacturers, we only use laser (heat-welded) or waterproof PUR adhesives to edge band our cabinets — creating a strong barrier against moisture and preventing delamination before it starts. This also provides for exceptionally smooth edges with minimal to no glue-lines.

Our construction methods also allow for producing cabinets with dimensionally-stable doors up to 9ft in height. Staying up to date with the latest developments in contemporary cabinet hardware and accessories enables us to create cabinets that are highly functional and purpose-built. We are adept at MEP integrations, especially LED lighting, and in using servo-driven cabinet closures.

We also create matching paneling systems, door skins and other architectural details to interface with cabinetry to provide for cohesive outcomes over the entirety of a project for designers & architects, when consistency is an issue.

I heard that plywood or solid wood construction is the best for cabinets. How does LOTUS construct their cabinet boxes, drawer boxes and interiors?

This is a common myth in the American construction industry. Instead LOTUS, like its counterparts in the contemporary European luxury cabinetry industry, favors the use of dimensionally stable engineered cores made from MDF, HDF or high-quality particle board. This is not to cut cost or cut corners, but in order to provide a superior quality product — both in terms of aesthetics and durability. Can LOTUS help design my project? Do they provide shop drawings?

Yes! LOTUS can work with designers, architects or owners to create a new design or enhance an existing design concept and bring it to life. Additionally, we can provide aerial bids for spaces based upon the overall amount and style of cabinetry which is being contemplated. Once clients accept our initial estimate, then we can fully take over the process of configuring and drawing the cabinetry floorpans, elevations, and sections, using our own as-built measurements or existing architectural backgrounds.
